LaVonne Edith Steele, 86, passed away August 11, 2013 at Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada. LaVonne was born in Denver to Selma Meislahn Bremer and William Herman Bremer on April 12, 1927.
She attended St. John's Lutheran School, graduated from Denver's South High School in 1945, and married Jack Norman Steele (deceased) June 28, 1947. They celebrated 50 years together.
LaVonne is predeceased by her husband, parents and son Paul William Steele. Survived by son Jay Norman Steele (Micah), step granddaughter Holly Brown (Ed), step great grandson Dustin Brown, all of Arvada, a niece Penelope LaVonne Tarr (Jim), nephew Steven Clam and family, along with several cousins.
She touched many lives through her volunteer work at the Arvada Center, the Elks Rocky Flats Retirement Association, the American Legion, and her faithful devotion to God and Peace Lutheran Church where she was a member for over 40 years.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home.
Funeral Service is Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, 5675 Field Street, Arvada. Reception immediately following at the church. Private burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
