LAWRENCE ANDREW PARKER 1924-2016

Our Dad went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, on July 5, 2016. He was residing at Mountain Vista, in Wheat Ridge, CO at the time.

Dad was born in Texas on September 19, 1924. He served in the Navy/Army as a young man. Dad fought in the Korean War and WWII. Over his enlistment period, he was stationed in Germany, Africa, and Golden, CO until he retired. Dad met our mom, Katheryn, in Moscow, ID and they were married in Seattle, WA on Dec. 28, 1943. Together they had three children, Dolores (Jim Zatarack), Andrew (Joann Parker), and Nora (Dan Pearson), 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Dad loved football, chocolate pie, cornbread and beans and watching TV. He loved his home state of Texas and we heard many stories of him growing up there, like hunting squirrels for dinner. He took good care of himself and always went for daily walks as long as he could. The family thanks our brother Andy and his wife for watching over Dad since Mom passed away, allowing Dad to live in his home that he shared with Mom until 2 weeks before his death.

Our father, SFC Lawrence Andrew Parker died peacefully in his sleep. Dad had a long life and his family will miss him.

Your loving children,
Dolores, Andrew, and Nora
