Lawrence "Larry" Cerney, 68, of Denver, CO, passed after a brief illness at his home.
Larry was born on August 12, 1946, in Mineola, NY to John and Laura (Hayes) Cerney. He moved to Colorado in 1974.
Larry married Mari Garza in August 1989 and lived in Denver, CO until his passing. They were married 25 1/2 years.
He worked for the Bell System and was transferred where he moved to Colorado in 1974 with his first wife, Karen (Donovan) Cerney, where he worked as an installer in Aspen, CO, before relocating to Denver and worked various telecom-network positions and retired after 40 years of service. He continued working in telecommunications field and he was working for Charter Communications until his passing.
Larry was a devoted and hard-working family man. He was part of the Edge of Space Sciences (EOSS) club and would provide volunteer work and support for various needs within the organization. His love of life will always be remembered through his photography work, his unconditional love for his children Max and Heather; along with his love for his grandchildren Connor and Tyler. He also loved Grateful Dead music, and various Blues and Rock-and-Roll groups, The Yankees baseball team, NASCAR races and spending time with his family.
Larry will be greatly missed by his family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Jack, Francis and her husband Conrad.
He is survived by his wife, Mari; sister, Ellen Donohue (Marty) of Annandale, Virginia; his son, Max; his daughter, Heather Runberg (Don) and his grandchildren, Tyler and Connor.
Memorial Service will be 1:00PM Friday, March 20, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood.
