With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Leanne Giron, who left us peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Englewood, Colorado, at the age of 72. Leanne’s journey began on July 6, 1954, in Cheyenne Wells, CO, and her life was a testament to love, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
Growing up in Denver, Leanne attended North High School, forming friendships and memories that lingered throughout her life. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her community as a Para Professional for an incredible 27 years at Mapleton Public Schools. Her dedication to education and unwavering compassion touched countless lives—students and colleagues alike remember her as someone who always cared, listened, and brought out the best in others.
Leanne was the heart of her family, and her proudest accomplishments were her two beloved daughters, Jana and Jamie. The bonds she built with them were deep, warm, and full of laughter. She also found enduring love in her life, sharing 40 years with her late husband, Lloyd Giron, whose love and support were treasured until her final days.
Her warmth and energy reached far beyond her immediate family. Leanne had a knack for bringing joy to every gathering with her outgoing nature and sharp, delightful sense of humor. Those who knew her will never forget her loving, caring ways. She had the rare talent of making everyone feel at home, welcomed, and appreciated.
The outdoors was Leanne’s playground—fishing was her greatest passion, one she pursued with infectious enthusiasm. Whether on walks in the fresh air, traveling to new places, or pausing for a round of slots, she lived each moment with curiosity and zest. Home was often filled with the clatter of billiard balls on her own pool table as she played games with friends and family, filling rooms with laughter and a subtle competitive spirit. Shopping trips and spontaneous adventures added color to her days, reflecting her love for living fully and savoring the simple pleasures.
Leanne leaves behind a legacy rich in love, kindness, and joyful memories. She is survived by her daughters, Jana Giron and her husband, Tim Bergen and Jamie Giron. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Giron.
A visitation to honor and remember Leanne will be held on August 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80226. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
Leanne’s love, laughter, and indomitable spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her. She will be deeply missed, and dearly remembered.
