Leo M. Maturi, Jr.

Leo Martin Maturi Jr. was 63, born July 22,1949 in Trenton, N.J. to Evelyn Sainz Maturi and Leo Martin Maturi Sr. Leo was raised primarily on a ranch near Woodland Park and 11 Mile Reservoir outside of Colorado Springs. After graduating from Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, CA in 1967 Leo went briefly to college at UCLA on a baseball scholarship but enlisted in the Army and served as a Green Beret in Viet Nam. Leo was injured in Viet Nam, was in a wheelchair and learned to walk again and requalified to stay in the Army. Leo was a passionate, generous man who loved to problem solve and organize. He loved crossword puzzles, the Sunday Newspaper , Nascar and Indy Car racing. Leo loved to cook for others. He loved Sunday drives and exploring new places with his family. In his last years he dreamed of retiring and travelling the US and Canada in a motorhome with wife Karen. Leo is survived by wife Karen and son Matthew Christopher and many loving in-laws who considered him one of their own. Leo Rest in Peace and you will always be Loved and Missed. We will see you again in Heaven.
