Leon Lee Hitchcock, 59, of Aurora, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2013. He was born June 16, 1953 to Carl and Eva Hitchcock in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1977 with a BS in Construction Management and married his wife Vicki on June 25, 1978.
Leon was employed in the construction industry for 35 years and leaves many colleagues in and around the Denver area. He was currently employed by Environmental Stoneworks in Denver, Colorado where he was Chief Estimator.
Leon was an avid outdoorsman and his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and camping trips in the mountains of Colorado.
He is survived by his wife Vicki of Aurora, Colorado, son Matthew Hitchcock of Aurora, son Ryan Hitchcock of Aurora, son Jonathan Hitchcock of Drake, Colorado, sister Marie Daniel of Alabama, sister Mary Ann (Mick) Parr of California, sister Vivian (Butch) Monge of Colorado, brother Duke (June) Hitchcock of Denver, brother Jack (Bonnie) Hitchcock of Fowler, CO, and brother Bob (Sheila) Hitchcock of Gardner, CO, granddaughter Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. Leon was looking forward to the arrival of a new grandbaby in August.
Leon's wishes were for cremation and no formal services are planned, however a family gathering will be held at a later date in the Colorado mountains. Leon lived every moment of his life to the fullest and he will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the charity of one's choice.
