Leslie Sue Rose

Leslie Sue Larsen Rose was born on April 5, 1958 to James and June Larsen while her father was stationed at Kadena Air Force Base, on the island of Okinawa. She was baptized in the Lutheran chapel with her proxy Godparents Raymond and Viola Kelley. Her Godparents were her uncle and aunt Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Peterson.
When the family returned to the United States in 1960 they lived for a year in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1961 they moved to Bismarck, ND. Leslie attended Roosevelt grade school, Hughes Jr. High, and Bismarck High School graduating in 1976.
She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Bismarck in the spring of 1972.
Leslie loved music, playing the violin and piano. She sang in a girls' choir and was a member of the Demonettes dance team for 3 years while in high school. During summers she and Mitch were members of the Heart Butte Water Ski club and performed at area lakes.
Leslie and Mitchell Rose were united in marriage in Bethel Lutheran Church on July 30, 1976 with her uncle and Godfather Rev. H. L. Peterson officiating.
She worked at the office of ICI for a number of years until they moved to Fargo where Mitch attended college. During that time she worked at the Fargo Forum. After his graduation they moved to Apple Valley near Bismarck.
Leslie became a full time mom with three little girls. Angela Kris born Feb. 4, 1977, Kristina Lee born Oct. 31, 1978 and Letrisha Marie born May 16, 1981. They were followed by Alicia Sue born Dec. 13, 1983 and Austin Mitchell born Apr. 25, 1985.
Mitch went to Denver to find work and Leslie and the 5 children stayed in Bismarck until joining him in Aurora, Colorado in 1988. Leslie had a children's day care for many years until her children were grown. She then studied and became a CNA working for The Life Care Center, followed by hospice care for Odyssey now known as Vista Care.
In the September of 2003 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Through many years of chemo and countless surgeries and scares, she always faced each challenge with grace and courage. After an 8 year battle, Leslie went to her eternal home on Oct. 1, 2011.
Her legacy is her shining jewels of children and grandchildren who will carry on her love, caring, and generosity for generations to come.
She leaves her husband Mitch Rose, her parents Jim and June Larsen, children Angela (Jake) Stransky, Kristina (Andy Morris) Rose, Letrisha (Mathew) Robinett, Alicia Rose, and Austin Rose. Her grandchildren Damon, Landen, and Preston Morris and Brooklyn and Dylan Stransky. She also leaves her sisters Vicki (Wayne) Gohring and Susan (Tim) Pudwill and loving friend Jeffrey R. Fike.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C,C, Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Anderson and J. Harry Peterson. Her father and mother in law Ed and Marilyn Rose. Her Godparents Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Peterson, Aunts Mary Ann Keller, Patricia Lidstrom, Jeanne Winter, Uncle and Aunt Dennis and Barbara Peterson, her brother-in-law Michael Rose. She also leaves many relatives and special friends.

Beautiful Leslie, keep the lights on in the mansion, we will be coming.
