Librada "Lala" Valdez passed away January 3, 2013. She's survived by her beloved husband of 57 years: Jose Valdez, sons Hector Jose and Javier, daughters Guillermina, Patricia, Argelia, Yolanda, Maricruz and Imelda; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, her brother Pedro and sister Catalina, and her dog: Minnie who was her loyal companion for 10 years and who she adored. She also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Lala was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico in 1936 to Silvestre Arenas and Victoria Cruz. She married her husband in 1955 at the age of 19 and spent the rest of her life married to him. In 1978, Lala, her husband and their younger children moved to Colorado. Her already married children followed.
Lala was a simple, beautiful woman with a big heart… She dedicated her life to take care of her husband and children. She loved cooking! and spending all the holidays with her family was the highlight of her life. As she grew older, during the summer, she enjoyed sitting by her porch with her husband while her children visited her throughout the day. She loved taking care of her beautiful roses and flowers. She was a huge fan of the Colorado Rockies and she greatly enjoyed going to a game with her husband from time to time.
Lala lived a life full of love and sacrifices. She is now reunited in Heaven with her father, mother, her brother Francisco, her sister Tomasa and many other relatives who parted before her.
She is now free!
Rest In Peace Beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. You'll be in our hearts forever!
