Lila Bonnie Naomi Robbins, 81, of Lakewood, CO passed away March 16, 2017 peacefully while residing at Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, CO with family members close by. Lila was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She would not hesitate to care for those who asked that of her. Her service to others in need was second to none.
Lila found many ways to be involved with everyone around her. She was active throughout her life in bowling leagues, downhill skiing, golfing, traveling, and playing cards with friends. Her favorite pastime was being with her family, children and grandchildren. Organizing family reunions, being a Camp Fire Girls leader, creating birthday party celebrations for family members were all things she loved to do. She loved to dance at any opportunity, with a laugh that would light up a room.
She was born on January 20, 1936 in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from North High School in 1954 and married Marvin L. Robbins of Harvey, Illinois on November 21, 1957 in Denver.
Lila had a knack for bookkeeping and working with numbers. She prepared income tax returns, held a Broker's license in real estate, and earned employee recognition awards while serving customers at various retail stores.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Susan (Nico) Kay of Lakewood, CO; Janet (Doug) Robison of
Buena Vista, CO; Cathy (Andy) Brendemihl of Milliken, CO; 2 brothers, Milo Ewing and Harry Ewing; 1 sister, Shirley Harrison; 8 grandchildren and 7 (soon to be 8) greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Marvin Robbins.
Services will be held on Thursday March 23, at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901
S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO followed by a graveside ceremony at Fort Logan National
Cemetery 11:30 am. A catered lunch will be given in Lila's honor beginning at 12:30 pm at Faith Community Church, 6228 S Carr Street in Littleton.
