Linda Blan, a cherished soul who brought warmth, love, and strength into the lives of those around her, passed peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado, with her devoted sister by her side. Born on January 21, 1943, in Trinidad, Colorado, Linda's life was a testament to resilience and compassion.
For nearly 30 years, Linda dedicated herself as a proud employee of the U.S. Attorney's Office. Her career was marked not only by her commitment to her work but also by the loving relationships she fostered with her colleagues, who often turned to her for guidance and support. She was known for her patience and her willingness to lend a hand, embodying the very essence of a nurturing spirit.
While Linda was not a mother in the traditional sense, but she embraced the role wholeheartedly as a motherly figure to her numerous nieces and nephews, as well as to her great-nieces and great-nephews. She relished in the joy of helping raise them, providing a source of comfort, love, and wisdom that many came to depend on. Her legacy as a ‘rock’ in her family will forever be cherished.
Linda’s personality radiated warmth; she was loving, giving, and incredibly patient. Friends and family alike knew her for her great hugs that provided solace and reassurance. Despite facing significant health challenges throughout her life, Linda never complained. Instead, she faced each obstacle with remarkable determination, transforming her struggles into a narrative of strength and perseverance and serving as an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of her professional and familial commitments, Linda had a passion for creativity. As a talented seamstress, she spent hours sewing and embroidering beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic spirit.
Linda leaves behind a loving family that includes her brothers, Raymond (Beverly) and Tom (Judy) Blan, her sisters, Rose (Richard) Gomez and Lila Valdez and her beloved godchildren, Chris Valdez, Margarita Martinez-Banda, and Ileana Martinez-Dominguez. Many nieces and nephews, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews as well as great-great nephews and great-great nieces, will carry forward her memory and share the stories of her unwavering love and support. She also leaves behind her Western Hills Healthcare "family".
She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Samuel and Margaret Blan, infant sister, Mary Lee, brother, Abel Blan and sisters, Margaret Martinez and Maria Pollack, as well as brothers-in-law Chuck Pollack and Phillip Valdez.
