Linda Diane Gibbs

Linda Gibbs, 75, passed away peacefully at her Lakewood home in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was born to the late Donald L. and Helen B. Estes on Wednesday, March 16, 1949, in Denver. Linda always said she had a childhood filled with love.

She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1967, and married Jerry M. Gibbs, the love of her life, at Bergen Park Church on January 27, 1968.

 Linda leaves a legacy of warmth, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her friends and family. As a testament to her character, Linda served as a guardian angel, providing round-the-clock care for her father, mother, aunt, and father-in-law in the final months of their lives. She also provided daycare for her grandchildren for the first several years of their lives.

 Linda held numerous jobs throughout her lifetime. From waiting tables and office management to human resources and bookkeeping, Linda worked hard to help support her family. After retiring, Linda and Jerry fulfilled their dream to spend their winters in warmer weather. For 22 years, they traveled to Parker, Arizona, where they had a fifth-wheel. That's where they created strong relationships with other snowbirds, who became their second family. The laughter was contagious, the bonds were genuine, and Linda was the beacon of light touching the hearts of those around her with her generosity and compassion. She never hesitated to help anyone in need.

Linda is survived by her BFF, Jerry; two children: Michael Gibbs (Michelle); and Tammy Mitchell (Don); brother, Donny Estes (Linda); sister, Sue Wilson (Ron); two grandchildren: Jason Mitchell; and Isabella Gibbs; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen Estes and sister, Connie McIntosh. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda's life during a memorial service at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S. Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. Services begin on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, beginning with a gathering at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. 

As we cherish the memories of Linda Gibbs, we honor her legacy and the indelible mark she has left on our lives. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
