Lloyd E. Fread

Lloyd E. Fread, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2014.
Born in Kearney, Nebraska on June 19, 1943, he was the son of Earl and Louise Fread. He was a graduate of Red Cloud High School in 1961; Lloyd then went to Evangel College where he received his Bachelor's Degree in 1965 and his Master's Degree at the University of Illinois in 1966. Lloyd then entered the Navy where he served as an officer in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
Lloyd became a CPA in July of 1978. He spent his career working in the banking and finance industry. He recently retired from the Bureau of Land Management where he worked as a financial analyst.
He was married to his loving bride, Tina for over 45 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, David Fread of Thornton, Colorado and his wife Amanda; a daughter, Carol Cook of Broomfield, Colorado and her husband Alan; five grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Colin "C.J.", Madison and Alexander; his mother, Louise Fread of Broomfield, Colorado; his sister, Shirley Wheatley and her husband Lloyd of Broomfield, Colorado and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Earl he was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Sydney Cook.
Lloyd's greatest passion was loving God. Living out his faith he served as an Elder at Thrive Church in Federal Heights, Colorado. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid football fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Another of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Thrive Church, 2820 W. 92nd Avenue, Federal Heights, 80260.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Thrive Life Center at the above address.
