Lois M. Mongillo, 58, of Northglenn, Colorado passed away on September 12, 2013. She was born to Roy Burdette and the late Blanche Burdette in Denver Colorado on May 13, 1955. She was married the late Paul Mongillo on December 31, 1993. She was the sister to Roy Ray (wife Veronica) Burdette and Harold (Gene) Burdette.
She is survived by two children Chauncy Ursini and Tabitha (husband Tim) Degner, three step-children, Donald (wife Tammy) Mongillo, Paula (husband Trevor) Rideout and Christopher Mongillo and nine grandchildren, Michael Mongillo, Cody Guthrie, Paige Mongillo, Torrie Fox, CJ Ursini, Hailee Rideout, Ivan Retzer, Rayce Rideout and Maddox Degner.
Lois and her late husband, Paul, enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, camping, fishing, bowling and traveling together. Their anniversary was on New Years Eve and so they would leave the day after Christmas and travel. This was a special time for them. Every spring and summer Lois could be found working in her garden and in the fall she could be found stewing and canning all of the wonderful products of her garden. Much of this home grown produce was then used to prepare her favorite meal of the year, Christmas Eve. This day was reserved for family, friends and anyone who needed a loving Christmas family meal, all were welcome at the table.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Sobriety House of Denver c/o Lois Mongillo, www.sobrietyhouse.org.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at Newcomer West Metro Chapel at 11:00 am.
