Loretta Ann (Bunnie) Melton Knabenshue, 71, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 7th after battling a long illness. Bunnie was born in Manchester, Kentucky. She attended Beavercreek High School in Ohio and shortly after graduating, married John Knabenshue on June 16th, 1962. They made their home in Xenia, OH and were blessed with 3 sons. The Knabenshues arrived in Aurora in 1975. Bunnie began her career with Cherry Creek Schools at Arrowhead Elementary before spending many years at Smoky Hill and finally retiring from Eaglecrest High School. She touched the lives of countless children over her 27-year career. Bunnie's pride and joy were her 3 boys and most of her time was spent cheering for them in their many sporting events. Bunnie loved her family with all her heart and no one could ask for a more wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister or aunt.
She is survived by her husband, John, children Chris (Terri), Jeff (Julie), Tim (Susan), grandchildren, Lyndsey, Jordin, Brooke, Josh and Karlee, siblings, Micki Hahn (Ron), Joe Melton (Glynda), Denny Clark (Sandy), Tony Clark (Kim) and Rick Clark (Deby), niece, Aleia Mansanares (Marques) and nephew, Rob Hahn (Katie).
A memorial service to honor Bunnie will be held on Friday, February 13th at 11 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 15555 E Quincy Ave, Aurora CO 80015-1509. Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Deacon's Fund.
