Loreen Kay “Lori” Martin, 56, of Aurora, Colorado passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
She was born in Orange County, California, in the city of Fullerton to Ray and Kay (Bosch) Aaro on February 3rd, 1969. She always considered herself a Colorado native since the family moved there shortly after her birth in 1971. She attended Rangeview High School with the class of 1988 and graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art with a Fashion Marketing degree in 1995. She married the love of her life, Rick Martin, on August 8th, 1992. A long-awaited union, as Ricky had declared their pending nuptials when they were just five.
Lori found joy in music, shopping, TV dramas, traveling, and camping. She loved helping others, repurposing flea market treasures, and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts. Above all, she cherished time with her large extended family, especially her beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and most of all, her daughters and son-in-law.
Ill from birth with what she called her ‘mutant gene,’ Lori faced many trials and tribulations throughout her life. Each obstacle in her way she just plowed through, and she proved how strong and resilient she was. Her inner strength was truly an inspiration to us all.
Lori is survived by her daughters, Cassidy Marlene Martin, and Keira Jo (Andrew) Calderon-Martin; expected first grandchild, Jasper Lawrence; father, Ray (Lynne) Aaro; mother, Kay Aaro; sisters, Suzi Aaro, Rae (Tom) VanDenover, and Katie (Chris) Morey-Tillman. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband on August 6th, 2019.
As a gesture of sympathy, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the Martin household at https://gofund.me/162ff173 or by providing any non-perishable food items of your choice.
