Lorma Marie Marcotte was born in Pueblo Colorado November 1, 1935 and passed away on October 26, 2015. She was one of six sisters and three brothers. Lorma lived in Kansas City Missouri for many years. She also lived in Fort Worth Texas for a few years but spent her remaining years in the Denver area. Lorma went to Southern Colorado State College and received an Associates degree as an Executive Secretary when she was a single mother of 4. Lorma taught dance for Arthur Murray studios, was a hair model on TV in the mid-1960s and received her CNA certificate in later years. Lorma owned and ran a child care business for many years as well.
Lorma was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf and numerous crafts. She loved dancing to Country Western music, playing the organ and harmonizing with her sisters. At family gatherings it was not unusual to find Lorma playing under the table with her great-grandchildren.
Lorma was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly True Johnson and granddaughter, Brittney Rose Chambers.
Lorma is survived by her significant other and primary caretaker, Ricky Lashua, three children, Brenda Noble, Marcie Chambers, and Bobby Schmitz, one daughter-in-law, Betha Schmitz, six grandchildren, Nathan Gustafson and his wife Lisa, Kati Johnson, Preston Chambers, Lucas Noble, Kellsy Johnson, and Joseph Schmitz. Lorma is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, November 2 at 2 PM at newcomer mortuary, 901 S. Sheridan Boulevard Lakewood Colorado. Reception immediately following.
