In Memory of
LORRAINE AGNES SAIZ
1930 - 2015
Lorraine Agnes Saiz passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015, after a brief stay at The Denver Hospice facility. Lorraine was born in Bingham, Utah to Daniel and Katherine Romero. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her two brothers and a sister, and it was in Albuquerque where she met her husband, Leo "Sam" Saiz. The two were married in August of 1946. Lorraine was 16 years old at the time, and Sam was 18. They subsequently moved to Denver, Colorado where they made their home.
Lorraine was a life-long Roman Catholic and member of All Saints Catholic Church where her family attended services. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to her five children: Cippy, Christie, Nancy, Sam, Jr. and Dale, and together with her husband, raised each of them to be responsible, caring adults. Lorraine was also a great cook and took delight in preparing meals for family and friends. A beautiful person inside and out, she will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Katherine, and brothers, Gilbert and Louie Romero. In 2005, after fifty-eight years of marriage, she lost her husband Sam. Lorraine is survived by her three daughters: Cipriana D. Brunner, Christina I. Garcia (husband Filbert, deceased), Nancy E. Duran (husband Daniel); two sons: Leo Samuel Saiz, Jr. (wife Cheryl), Dale A. Saiz (wife Sandra); sister, Marcella Kercher (husband Richard); eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Denver Hospice, 8299 E. Lowry Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80229, a very special place where Lorraine received compassionate care and where her family was warmly welcomed each day as they waited patiently while Lorraine made her journey home.
