Lorraine Diann Mulqueen (69) died peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2025, at her Alzheimer home in Castle Rock Colorado. She was in hospice care there and was well cared for. Lorraine is survived by her husband of 48 years George Mulqueen their daughter Erin (Stan) and grandson Quin Marczewski of Nolensville Tennessee, her sister Barb (Paul) Hart of Hillsboro, Oregon. She is also survived by her own extended family along with George's as she was more of a sister than an in-law. Lorraine was preceded in death by her father and mother as well her 2nd dad for 35 years Dale Burt and her brother Dave Gross.
Lorraine was born in Portland Oregon on December 8, 1956, to John and Laverne Gross. The family moved to Denver when she was 10. Lorraine attended Denver South High School where she met George as a sophomore in geometry class. They dated until they married in June of 1977 in South Turkey Creek Canyon. George & Lorraine moved to Aurora and had Erin in 1980.
Lorraine worked in the glass business for many years. She and George owned and operated Western Glass Co. from 1987-1995. From there she worked at Busick Insulated Glass till 2011 when she retired.
She loved to go on ocean cruises and has done more than her share. Lorraine enjoyed being pampered and didn’t care where they traveled if she was on the ship! Many times, a year, Lorraine, and George would travel to see Quin and she loved spending time walking and playing with him. Lorraine was an avid gardener and was highly knowledgeable on the subject. She enjoyed sitting on her back patio taking in the nature and all her flowerpots.
The services are at 11 AM Friday January 23, 2026, at Newcomer East,190 Potomac St Aurora and will include a Mass said by the priest that married her and George. After the services there will be a reception at the same venue from 12:00 till 2:00 PM. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society or charity of your choice.
