Lou Galluzzi Sr., a man many lovingly described as indestructible, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by family. He was 86 years old.
To know Lou was to know resilience. Over the course of his life, he faced five different cancers, and beat almost every one of them with grit, humor, and an unwavering will to live. His oncologist once nicknamed him the “Energizer Bunny,” a title that suited him well. He carried himself with a toughness that made it seem as though nothing could knock him down.
At the center of Lou’s life was his beloved wife, Darla. Her passing in 1997 changed the rhythm of his world, but his love and devotion to her never faded. Their story remained one of the greatest anchors of his life.
He was the proud father of six children: Kathleen, Keith, Kent, Gina, Louie, and his daughter Cynthia, who preceded him in death. Being a father was one of his greatest roles. His presence and love shaped each one of them in lasting ways.
His legacy continued through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him pride in their own unique ways. His bond with his granddaughter Kayli was especially close. The two of them were best friends, sharing laughter, stories, and a connection that will forever remain one of her greatest gifts.
For Lou, Sundays meant homemade spaghetti sauce on the stove; a simple but sacred tradition that reflected how he showed love: consistently, without fanfare, and from the heart.
Lou also loved to spend time outdoors, especially on the golf course and out on the water with a fishing pole in hand. Whether chasing a perfect tee shot or the next big catch, he approached life with the same joy, focus, and determination that he brought to everything else.
Lou believed deeply that everything happens for a reason. Even in difficult seasons, he held to the belief that life unfolds as it should. In his final days, he remained sharp-minded and surrounded by love. He passed peacefully on his wife’s birthday — a detail his family finds beautifully fitting, imagining the reunion that awaited him.
Lou leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, devotion, and unwavering love. His impact will continue to echo; in kitchens filled with sauce on Sunday, on the golf course, by the water, and in the way his family continues to show up for one another.
He is survived by his children Kathleen, Keith, Kent, Gina, and Louie; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; and countless friends whose lives were better because of him. He is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Darla, his mother and father, Dorothy and Carmen, his brother, Mike, and his daughter, Cynthia.
A reception to celebrate Lou’s life will be held after the service at Kayli and Brien’s home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor him by spending time with those you love, casting a line, making a tee time, or simply living big — because that’s exactly what he would have wanted.
Open house after the service from 1:00-4:00 at Kayli and Brien Caseria’s home.
All are welcome.
Food and drinks will be served.
