Louise Florence Beach Bush
January 6, 1920 - June 12, 2016.
Dear Family, friends and Loved Ones.
Louise's long and wonderful journey through life closed its final chapter early this summer. Her last breath on earth was her first in heaven. She now opens a new beginning with her best friend in life, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Louise Florence Beach Bush was born on January 6, 1920 to Florence Robinson Leitch. She was the most beautiful, loving, godly woman and mother we have ever known.
Childhood..................................................................THE BEGINING.....
The beginning years of her life in the 20's and 30's would usher in difficult times and trying family dynamics that would not only test and develop her courage but would also forge the strength, character and love that would sustain and nourish her and all those she loved.
When not out dancing with her sister Margret and mother Florence in the Trocadero at Elitches, Lakeside or somewhere downtown Denver, she would be waitressing in the North Denver area helping her family to survive. After graduating from North Denver High School in 1937 she would play in the hangouts and bowling lanes in North Denver, Wheat Ridge and Arvada. We've been told she was crowned Miss North Denver. Somewhere, sometime in the final paragraph of this chapter she met a man from Arvada. Turning to a friend she said, 'I'm going to marry that guy.' That guy was Harold.
Romance and Love...................Romance, love and the WAR YEARS….
While working at Henry and Buldorf as a bookkeeper in the early 40's, Mom would punch the clock early on Friday then jump in her car and drive to Lubbock, Texas to spend the weekend with Dad who was in the Air Force at this time. Somewhere, sometime in the middle of this chapter they were married on June 18, 1942 in Albuquerque, New Mexico with close Texas friends and family attending. Years later as a young boy, Norm remembers catching a train at Union Station heading to Texas for a family visit with the Millers, with whom they had lived during Dad's flight training. After being transferred within the flight training school program Dad departed in his B-24 heading to the Philippines and North Australia. Mom returned home to endure the war years. Dad returned to the longing and loving embrace of Mom.
Family.......................Norm first, soon follow by Chuck,................KIDS…..
This chapter was right out of "Ozzy and Harriet" and "Leave It To Beaver" with a lot of mischief for flavor. We moved into our newly built home on 4501 West Hayward Place, above Sloan's Lake in 1950. She loved her home where she grew sweet peas and roses. Her sons, Norm and Chuck, tag-teamed through Edison Elementary School, Skinner Jr. High and North High with Mom and Dad nourishing the family with love, care and guidance. Mom carried the day to day activities of Cub Scout Master, Boy Scouts, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher at Trinity Baptist Church in Wheat Ridge, just to mention a few. When summer rolled around it was crafts at Wolf Park, little league baseball, skiing on Sloans Lake and family car camping vacations with her sister's family from Seattle. A strong extended family was drawn even closer together in those shared experiences that bind us deeply to this day.
Throughout these years she also worked for United Tool and Materials and Katson Brothers Dry Cleaning Supply. Mom and Dad were active members of the Denver Exchange Club.
Louise was a wonderful supporter of the Child Evangelism Fellowship program. Mom's love of God through Jesus Christ blessed her with many opportunities to witness for Christ. Her sons owe their spiritual lives to Mom for her guidance, support and love for her savior Jesus Christ. Without those Sundays spent in church we would not be the men we are today. The boys fledged the nest in the late 60's and went off to find their own lives.
Retirement..........................................................THE GOLDEN YEARS.....
Harold was not to be blessed with us for many golden years. After retiring at age 65, while waiting for Mom to soon follow, he spent a year visiting his mother, Linnie, living on Vrain Stree. Dad passed from our lives on February 16, 1983.
The next chapter began with Arthur O. Bush. Mom was to spend 24 golden years with Art.
Art first called on mother in the mid 80's a year and half after Harold passed away. Art enjoyed dancing and traveling as much as Mom. They spent the late 80's and 90's traveling the world spending February in Hawaii for several years in a row. They spent many weekends dancing at the Elks Club of Lakewood, Aviation Club and the Tangiers. They were married on Louise's birthday, January 6th 2000, in Whitefish, Montana where Norman and his family resided. During these years Mom shared the loves of her life with Art, her sons, Chuck and Norman and their families. They lived at San Marino Retirement Village in Westminster for 12 years until Arts passing in 2008.
Mom shared her life with two wonderful husbands, Harold W. Beach of 43 years, Arthur O. Bush of 24 years. She also leaves behind two sons, Chuck and Norm, three daughter-in-laws, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two nieces, one nephew, their families in the Northwest, and friends and loved ones in abundance. Mom touched us all.
