Lu Beth McConnell

Lu Beth McConnell, 83, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2026. Born to "Scotty" and "Gaye" McLeran, on December 16, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, she was the middle of three daughters.

Beth attended North High School, and graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in Elementary Education. She married William Tate McConnell in 1964. Their son, William Scott, was born in 1969 in St. Louis, MO, and they adopted their daughter, Elizabeth Jane, there in 1970. Bill and Beth served as missionaries in Brazil for 15 years with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. Their daughter, Debora Natalia, was born there in 1973, and their son, Steven John, was also born there in 1984. The family moved to the US in 1987, living first in Wisconsin before eventually returning to Colorado.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents, "Scotty" and "Gaye" McLeran, her husband of 54 years, William Tate McConnell, her sister Leslie Organ, and her sister Starr Whitney. She is survived by her children, William Scott McConnell, Elizabeth Jane Daniels, Debora Natalia Schoen, and Steven John McConnell; her grandchildren, Raymond Earl Pryor IV, and A.J. Schoen, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, and those she brought into her fold as "God-children".
