Lucille M. Ramos, a beacon of joy and compassion in her community, passed away on January 12, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 82. Born on April 15, 1943, in Trinidad, Colorado, Lucille embodied a spirit of warmth and unwavering support that touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout her vibrant life, Lucille adorned many roles, each infused with her trademark enthusiasm and kindness. A dedicated para school teacher and a member of the Inner Faith Task Force, she earned the affectionate nickname "Mother Goose" during her years as a beloved babysitter. Her multifaceted career also saw her thrive in the world of retail, where her engaging personality shone through.

Lucille's love for her community was manifest in her profound practice of writing. Known for composing heartfelt cards and letters not only to friends and family but also to strangers in need, her words often arrived in desperate and despairing hours, offering solace and hope. The many Christmas cards she crafted with love will be fondly remembered and missed by those fortunate enough to receive them.

A woman of infectious joy, Lucille was often found singing and dancing, her spirit soaring to the rhythms of Mexican music. She embraced life with fervor, always ready to don impeccable outfits that matched down to her nails, while finding delight in shopping and participating in games of bingo. A loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, her passions were as varied as they were intense.

Lucille’s greatest pride stemmed from over sixty years of marriage to her late husband Eloy Ramos and her devoted role as a homemaker, as she navigated life’s sacrifices to ensure the happiness and support of her family. Her love extended prominently to her children, with her son Jimmy (Lori) and daughter Donna (Jaime), and flourished through her grandsons Michael, Joey, Eddie, Manuel (Ashley), and granddaughters Angie, Jesse, Racael, and Angel (Jared). She cherished her siblings, Anna (Joe), Alice (Jerry), Johnny (Janae), and Fred (Millie), alongside numerous great-grandchildren who were equally adored.

Lucille is preceded in death by her beloved husband Eloy Ramos, along with her sons Eddie and Alan.

Her legacy of love, community service, and joyful spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, a testament to the beautiful heart that defined her existence.
