Lula Bell Pearce, 100 passed away Wednesday, December 12th 2018 at home with her family in Northglenn, Colorado. Lula was born in Miami, Florida to Captain Jasper and Daisy Causey on October 2, 1918. She was the third out of seven children.

Lula attended Miami High school, where she was a cheerleader. At age eighteen she married James M. Smart for seventeen years, and they had a daughter Edith. Lula was president of the Buena Vista PTA, her daughter's elementary. She later married Maynard M. Pearce. They were married for forty two years. Both husbands preceded her in death.

She worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in numerous cities and departments, finishing out her career as head bookkeeper in the credit department at the Northglenn mall. She retired in 1980, after thirty years. Lula then took a job with her husband at the National self storage in Arvada running the office for storage units. She was a member at Crossroads Baptist Church in Northglenn, Co., where she was a deaconess and helped start the first clothes closet. Lula was also a member of the Northglenn Elks #2438 Ladies Auxiliary serving on numerous committees and participated with the Elks bowling league.

Lula moved to Arcadia Fl, with her husband Maynard in the early 80's to help care for her mother. Lula was active
in her church, Calvary Baptist Church, the Women's club, the Garden Club and the Red Hat Society. She was very involved with her family and friends and loved life and lived it to the fullest. Lula's last big hoorah was her 100th birthday in October where she celebrated with family and friends.

Lula is survived by her daughter Edith Wallace, granddaughters Jeaneene Wallace and LuAnn Wallace, grandson Gary David Wallace, great-granddaughter Golden Ben-Joseph, great-great-granddaughter Coraline Jane and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Denver Causey, Henry Causey, Violet Causey,David Causey, Clifford Causey, Mary Giglio and her son-in-law Gary L. Wallace.
