Lyle Richard Larabee, a beloved father, grandfather, and lifelong resident of Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Brighton, Colorado. Born on November 29, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, Lyle's life was marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a warm-hearted spirit that touched all who knew him.

Lyle grew up on a farm where he developed an early fascination with all things mechanical, a passion that would shape his entire life. After graduating from Cherry Creek High School, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the Navy in 1961. This chapter of his life was one of dedication and pride, qualities he carried with him throughout his years.

Following his military service, Lyle devoted his career to the automotive trade, a skill he inherited from his father. For the majority of his working life, he was an automotive mechanic at one of the many Amaco stations in Denver.

Family was the heart of Lyle's world. He was married to Agnes for over fifty years, a deep and enduring bond that reflected his steadfast loyalty and love. Though Agnes and their son, Richard, have preceded him in death, Lyle’s legacy lives on vibrantly through his daughter Kimberly D’Amico (Richard) and his cherished grandsons, Joshua Lawler and Terry D’Amico.

Kimberly remembers with warmth their family vacations to Disneyland and other adventure parks, moments filled with laughter and joy as her dad willingly joined in the fun, riding the rides and creating treasured memories. Those who knew Lyle admired his good sense of humor and his joyous, goofy dancing, a glimpse into the lighter side of his spirited personality. Lyle also liked taking Sunday drives to many different parts of Colorado, where his curiosity and love for adventure truly shone. His love for country music, especially the songs of Hank Williams, echoed the rhythms of his soul and brought comfort and pleasure throughout his life.

Among his proudest accomplishments were the longevity of his career and his marriage, testaments to his steadfast character and nurturing heart. Lyle Richard Larabee will be remembered not only for his mechanical expertise and service but also for the warmth, humor, and love that defined his life.

As we bid farewell to Lyle, we hold close the memories he created, the lessons he imparted, and the love he freely gave. His legacy endures in the hearts of his daughter Kimberly and grandsons Joshua and Terry, who will carry forward the spirit of a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed often.

Rest in peace, Lyle Richard Larabee. Your journey through this life has left a mark on those who were fortunate enough to know you. You will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
