Mabel Margorie Wasiecko

Mabel Margorie (Glantz) Wasiecko was born March 4, 1929 in Fort Collins Colorado, daughter of George Glantz and Catherine (Strauch) Glantz. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1947. She worked at the Colorado A&M (now Colorado State University) Botany Lab and at the campus bookstore where she met her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph Wasiecko who preceded her in death in 2018 at the age of 95. Mabel and Joe moved to Aurora in 1953 where they raised five children Mary Morgan, Linda (Bob) Grant, Sharon Wasiecko, Nancy (Kevin) Spurgeon and Steve (Lisa) Wasiecko. She had 11 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mabel was active in the Park East Neighborhood Association providing support with events and projects and volunteered at Lansing Elementary School. Later Mabel and Joe moved to a new home in Westminster where they resided for another 20 years before returning to the Aurora/Centennial area for the final years of their lives. Both Mabel and Joe enjoyed long and healthy lives with a loving family surrounding them. Mabel passed at the age of 96 on July 12, 2025 of natural causes surrounded by family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver with a private family service to follow.
