Manuel Lee Madrid , 78, of Denver, passed away September 5, 2016.
He was born January 19, 1938 in Trinidad, Colorado, the son of Alberto and Antonia (Sandoval) Madrid.
He proudly served in the US Navy, attended Trinidad State Junior College, and became a Master Plumber.
He and his wife Ida were married for over 50 years.
Manuel was a parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua where he previously served as an usher.
Manuel was an avid Rockies fan and loved to watch the Denver Nuggets. He also enjoyed fishing, going to Blackhawk, and the "ponies." Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his family.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Ida Madrid; five children, Betty Jo Madrid, Marie A. (Todd Miller) Madrid, Manuel C. Madrid, Albert S. Madrid, and Laura N. Madrid; grandchildren, Rachel Kimose, Danny Marez, Christopher Marez, Alexander Kimose, McKenna Kimose, Alivea Madrid, Izella Jones, and Mattaeo Gutierrez; great-grandchild, Liam Marez; three sisters, Pauline Sambrano, Beatrice (Arturo) Argomaniz, and Rosella (Louie) Torres; brother-in-law, Al Martinez; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by father, Alberto Madrid; mother, Antonia Madrid; brothers, Albert Madrid, Rudy Madrid, Alfonso Madrid, Patrick Madrid, Cesario Madrid, and Leo Madrid; sisters, Dora Martinez and Theresa Martinez.
