Marcene V. Martin, of Ft. Lupton passed away on Dec 18. Marcene was born on Oct. 23, 1927 in Chappell, NE to Harry and Inez Newberg. She married Blaine Martin on Dec 15, 1946 in North Platte, NE.
Her education was completed in Oshkosh, NE. She moved from Nebraska to Ft. Lupton, CO in 1953. She worked as a secretary for the Ft. Lupton School District for 37 years and retired in 1993. Above all, Marcene enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. Her hobbies also included collecting Hallmark ornaments and attending senior trips and special events.
She volunteered at The First United Methodist Church in Ft. Lupton, was a participant in the Fall Craft Fair and loved playing Bridge, dominos and bingo.
She moved into Covenant Village in Westminster, CO in February 2011.
Marcene is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Nathan) Hinkle, Marlyce (Jerry) Buderus and Marcet Evens, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister Joie Garton from Oshkosh, NE.
Marcene's memorial service will be 1:00 pm on January 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Lupton, followed by a private interment in Oshkosh, NE at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marcene's name to The Kowanda Historical Church of Oshkosh NE, or the RAC Fund-Covenant Village of Colorado or the Susan G Komen Foundation.
