Margaret Ann (Miles) Kobs, 81, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on Friday, October 16, 2015 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Born September 25, 1934 in Goodland, Kansas to Bert and Ida Marie (Warkentin) Miles, Ann was raised in Garden City, KS. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. While studying music education at KSU, she met the love of her life, Donald E. Kobs. They were married October 23, 1955 in Garden City, KS. They raised their five children in Dodge City and Liberal, KS.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her greatest joys were her family and friends. She was also a talented musician who shared her gift as a church organist, piano teacher and soloist. She was also a legal secretary for many years.
Her husband, Don, preceded her in death in 1994. Shortly after his death she moved to Topeka, KS to be near her oldest son. In Topeka she made lots of dear friends and enjoyed her time playing bridge, attending garden club and participating in social and church activities. She also enjoyed time traveling with her brother to Europe, South America, Alaska and Hawaii.
In 2004, Ann moved to Wheat Ridge, CO to be closer to her daughter. She loved the beauty of Colorado and spending her free time reading, playing bridge and cherished moments with family and friends.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Roger, her parents and a brother, John McKay Miles. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Diana) of Topeka, KS; Greg (Nancy) of Alamo, CA; Steve (Kay) of Frisco, TX; and her daughter, Sarah (Chuck) Fay of Arvada, CO. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Miles of Seattle, WA and her sister-in-law, Dorotha Leigh (Don) Hogue of Golden, CO. She has 8 grandchildren: Dylan of Miami, FL; Kaitlin of Brooklyn, NY; Brent of San Francisco, CA; Dustin of San Diego, CA; Shaela of Frisco, TX; Aubree of Frisco, TX; Bethany of Arvada, CO; Brianna of Arvada, CO; and two step-grandchildren, Nic and Cassie Le Blanc of Frisco, TX. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends who will forever treasure their memories of Ann.
A memorial service is planned at St. Paul's Community Church in Lakewood, CO on Saturday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m.
A family burial will be held in Meade, KS.
A memorial in Ann's name has been established at St. Paul's Community Church, 8001 W. 23rd Ave., Lakewood, CO 80214 as well as the American Cancer Society, 2255 S. Oneida Street, Denver, CO 80224.
