Age 85, passed away November 25, 2013.
She is survived by her husband, Derald, daughters; Wanda,Kathleen, Patricia and Rebecca, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was born a British citizen in Montevideo, Uruguay and moved at age six to Recife, Brazil where she spent the rest of her childhood. She studied ballet, piano, voice, and French to add to her fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese. In 1947 she moved to the states to study music at Colorado Women's College. The summer after her freshman year she took a job at a dude ranch in Elbert County, where she met her husband Derald. After graduation and marriage she began her career teaching music in public schools, later teaching French and Spanish as well. She also started her family, and though she worked full time, she was a full time mother too.
She was a sociable person. She loved her church and singing in the choir. When she retired from teaching she took a second career as a certified nurse's assistant. She was known for her generosity and kindness, and was an energetic involved person who was active until her health failed her. She remained cheerful and uncomplaining during her years of medical problems. She was a dear wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana). Her family is grateful for her legacy and the many ways in which she touched the world.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 10:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior at Christ Episcopal Church, 2950 S. University Blvd. Denver, CO 80210. Interment at Elbert Cemetery, 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
