Margaret Jane Hurst

Margaret Jane McCauley Hurst, 91, of Englewood, Colorado, passed away March 16, 2026, in her sleep. Born December 2, 1934, in Las Animas, Colorado to Josephine and G. Kent McCauley, Margaret had three beautiful children and a loving marriage that lasted a lifetime. Margaret was an elementary teacher with a master’s in education.

She enjoyed crafting, gardening, birding and especially genealogy. Even at age 91 she would squint at the computer and with a shaky hand on the mouse continue to document her family’s history. Her most known trait was her sweetness and kindness. She forever had a smile and kind word for family and friends.

Margaret is survived by daughter, Rebecca Cosart (Bart), grandchildren Ryan Nubel, Bethany Rachel (Terrance), and Walter Nubel IV, Great grandchildren Jalen Barber-Hurst, Caden Nubel, Isabella Rachel, Jamison Nubel, Isaiah Rachel, Sabra Nubel, Deven Rachel, Walter Nubel V, and Angel Nubel. She was preceded in death by husband Ronald Hurst, sons Roger Hurst, and Robin Hurst.
