Marian Ruth Weiss , 83, of Lakewood, passed away November 19, 2017.
She was born May 20, 1934 in Baca County, Colorado, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (McBride) Jenkins.
She was a graduate of Boulder High School in Boulder, CO. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education from UNC-Greeley. Marian taught one semester in North Platte, NE and then returned to Colorado to marry Richard Weiss, whom she had met that summer before.
Marian loved crafts, particularly making ceramics. Marian enjoyed making crafts with her daughter, Shirley and Shirley's husband, Ray. She also loved to go to garage sales.
Marian is survived by five siblings, Junia Jenkins, Reta (Herbert) Beebe, Barbara (Bob) Allen, John (Nancy) Jenkins and Gwen (George) Yee; sister-in-law, Linda Jenkins; many nieces, nephews and extended family and close friend, Barbara Beisher.
She is preceded in death by husband, Richard L. Weiss; daughter, Shirley Ellen Lewis; father, Thomas Jenkins; mother, Elsie Jenkins; sister, Ruby Lanich and two brothers, Tom Jenkins, Jr. and Glen Jenkins and many dogs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 1480 Hoyt St., Lakewood, CO 80215.
