Marilyn L. Little

November 18, 1941 — October 22, 2015

Marilyn L. Little , 73, of Broomfield, CO passed away October 22, 2015.

Marilyn was born November 18, 1941 in Centerville, IA to the late Jasper and Margaret (Smith) Mitchell. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1960 and from Marycrest College in 1964. Marilyn and Dave got married that same year and had 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

Marilyn knew few strangers. She was involved in many activities and always spent time with her friends taking turns hosting coffee get-togethers. Over the years Marilyn worked at various jobs – first and foremost she was a proud mother. She was also a teacher at Indian Hills Community College, a pharmacy technician at Evergreen Drug, but her lifelong passion was being the church organist. Marilyn could be found each Sunday assisting the choir at the organ or the piano. She played a countless number of weddings and funerals in Iowa and Colorado. She could perform a wide repertoire of music and always enjoyed accompanying singers or instrument players.

Marilyn was also an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan. She was always decked out in the appropriate team T-shirt on game day, watching the game or getting updates on her phone. She loved to carry on a conversation with the grandkids about how those two teams were doing!

Marilyn's greatest joy was her grandchildren. She took great pride in sharing their accomplishments, pictures, and stories with her friends. She kept pictures all over the house of them at various stages of their lives. Anytime she could attend one of their activities she would. Each grandchild had a special relationship with her and she always made each of them feel special individually.

Marilyn's love and kindness will impact her children and grandchildren the rest of their lives.

Marilyn is survived by her Husband, David A. Little; Two Daughters, Leslie A. (Bill) Long & Melissa S. (Bob) Verity; Son, Mike D. (Kelly) Little; Three Granddaughters, Skye Verity, Madison Long, Shibire Little; Four Grandsons, Mitchell Long, Xander Verity, David Little, Sam Little; Brother, Ronald (Paula) Mitchell; Two Sisters, Jeanice (Will) Lester, Camilla (Bill) Walker. She is preceded in death by her Father, Jasper James Mitchell & Mother, Margaret Jane Mitchell.
