Marion Garcia
September 29, 1939 - April 13, 2013
Marion Garcia continued on her spiritual journey on the eve of April 13, 2013 at her home in Denver Colorado preceded by her husband Joe Claude Garcia and son Joseph Mark Garcia. She is survived by her son Donavan Abeyta, daughter Felicia Garcia, grandchildren as follows: Mico Abeyta, Monique Abeyta, Aylena Garcia, Alijah Mark Garcia and Kaden Martinez, in addition to her six living siblings.
To put into words how much she meant to so many is an impossible task. She was an amazing woman that brought a smile to your face. The type of woman that carried herself with dignity, strength and class.
She was an amazing mother and grandmother that instilled strong morals and values in her children and grandchildren. She had two son's Mark and Donavan. I, the writer am the daughter of Mark, whom departed for his own spiritual journey over 20 years ago. She raised me as her own since I was just a couple weeks old. She is my mom. She has 5 wonderful grandchildren (not including myself) and loved them all so very much. We were very blessed to have the privilege of spending the amount of time we were able to with her before she departed from this world.
She began working with the Denver Public school system back in the mid 1980's. She started as a teacher's assistant then various other positions and through her demonstration of her excellent work ethic and skills came to find herself as a Community Liaison for DPS. She was such an asset to the community, always did her very best to take care of her families... and if your kid thought they were gonna skip school, there was sure to be a knock on your door from Mrs. Garcia! Later on in life she found herself working at a mortuary and of course up the hill in Central City, boy did she love going up the hill! Not to mention how lucky she was, she always knew just what machine to play... Central city will never be the same but hopefully she left some of that luck behind!? She was a jack of all trades and accepted any notation that she couldn't do something as a personal challenge to do it and do it well.
As I stated before, she was an amazing woman that will be deeply missed. The void she leaves behind is profound but please family and friends find comfort in knowing she lives on in each and everyone of you because she touched your heart and soul. I know I will carry her with me for eternity. Till we meet again....
A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 1-3pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3300 W Nevada Place Denver, Co 80219. Please feel free to join us as we bid my mother adieu and wish her well on her spiritual journey... a beautiful soul has been set free.
