Listen to Obituary

Marjorie Ann Conner, née McIntyre, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado, at the age of 85.

Marjorie was born on March 9, 1941, in Durango, Colorado, to Thomas and Anna McIntyre, who preceded her in death. A lifelong Coloradan at heart, she spent nearly all of her life in the state she loved, aside from a period living in Virginia where she began raising her family.

Marjorie attended Adams State College, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education while pursuing her lifelong love of music. She sang in choir and played both the violin and piano, passions that remained close to her throughout her life.

Early in her career, Marjorie worked as an elementary school teacher in both Colorado and Virginia before relocating to the Denver area in 1975. Over the years, she built a successful career working in a variety of business administration and finance roles.

A deeply devoted Christian, Marjorie remained active in her faith and church community throughout her life. More than anything else, however, she will be remembered for the warmth, kindness, and openness she showed to everyone she met. Friends and family often remarked that she was the most approachable person they had ever known. It was not uncommon for complete strangers to find themselves sharing their life stories with her only minutes after meeting her.

Marjorie was a profoundly loving mother and grandmother whose home and heart were always open to others. Many of her sons’ friends joked over the years that they were “adopting” her as their own mother, a reflection of the comfort, compassion, and acceptance she so naturally gave to those around her.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Christy and Derek Christy; her grandchildren, Tyler Christy and Jason Christy-Davis; and her sister, Lilly Goldsmith.

The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family kindly requests cards and personal messages of remembrance.
