Mark Lynnwood Dabney was born on July 12, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late William Lynnwood Dabney and Jeanette Louise Dabney. He peacefully entered eternal rest on October 3, 2025, in Denver, Colorado.
From a young age, Mark’s light shined bright. A straight-A student from seventh through twelfth grade, he embodied both intelligence and determination. He played the trombone with joy, found excitement in football, especially cheering for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and carried a deep appreciation for music throughout his life.
In high school, Mark was known for his charisma and his love for WDAS Radio in Philadelphia he could always be counted on to call in and win concert tickets, just for the thrill of it.
Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before building a successful career in finance in Denver, Colorado. There, he created a life defined by hard work, integrity, and laughter. He was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and the way he could brighten any room along with his well-known love of KFC, a family favorite memory that will always bring a smile.
At the age of forty-three, Mark suffered a stroke that altered the course of his journey. Yet even through those challenges, his spirit remained unbroken. His resilience, humor, and warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jeanette Dabney, and several beloved aunts and uncles who now welcome him home in eternal peace. He leaves behind his devoted sisters, Karen Dabney Coleman and Hope Dabney, his best friend Kevin, and a host of friends who cherish the years of love, laughter, and connection they shared with him.
Mark’s life was one of courage, grace, and unwavering faith. He is now free; free from pain, free from limitation, and surrounded by divine love. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Rest in glory, Mark. You are free, you are whole, and you are home
