Marlene Arabell Skinner, 91, of Denver, Colorado passed away August 24, 2011. Services will be held September 2, 2011 at 1:30 at Newcomer Funeral Homes and Crematory with committal to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 3:00.
Marlene was born November 7, 1919 in a farm house near Sharon Springs, Kansas to Franz and Mina (Wilhelmina Hammerbacher) Branberg. She attended a county school and then Weskan Schools. She moved to Denver with her sisters in 1937 and found a job at The Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company where she worked 38 years until her retirement in 1984.
She was married to Charles D. Skinner for over 25 years when he passed away in 1980. She lived for many years at Windsor Gardens. She later married Donald W. Meyer who passed away in 2002.
Marlene enjoyed dancing at a German Dance club in Denver, playing cards and games, and walking.
She is survived by her twin sister, Earlene Krehmeyer of Haxtun, Colorado, a younger sister, Junerose Crawford of Augusta, Georgia, and a brother, Alfred Branberg of Wiggins, Colorado. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Walter and Lionel.
