Marlene was born in Harvey, North Dakota, on April 10, 1934 to Elmer and Marlene Seibel. She received her Nursing degree at Trinity Hospital, Minot, North Dakota, on September 7, 1955.

Marlene married Lowell Ratzlaff on July 26, 1956. Marlene and Lowell lived in the Denver area all of their happy marriage of almost 55 years.

Marlene is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and Dick Peterson, of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Lucinda and Gary Schultz, of Fresno, California. Lowell and Marlene have two sons, Steve, who lives in Plano, Texas and Stuart, who lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with his wife Beth and two grandchildren, Beri and Baxter. Beth also has three children, Samuel, Mariah and Cassie Kimbriel.
