Born on November 17, 1936 in the small town of Edna, Oklahoma. Marvin Brown passed away April 26, 2012 in the city of Denver, Colorado.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army and Reserves from 1959 to 1965. Towards the end of his military career Marvin met Evelyn Brown in 1964 at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Later they married in Omaha Nebraska in 1967.
Using his acute ability to balance ledgers and his unique attention to detail, Marvin had a successful career as an accountant which led to him ending his civilian career at the University of Colorado after 30 years of service to the state.
Gardening, fishing and swimming are just some of the things Marvin really enjoyed. He enjoyed the Colorado Mountains and loved getting back to Oklahoma, the place of his birth whenever he could.
Marvin was very active in the Church and served as deacon for many years as well as acting as church treasurer at Aurora First Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Marvin is survived by his wife Evelyn, his two sons Ken & Chris, three sisters and five brothers along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Marvin was preceded in death by an brother, Noel, his parents Roosevelt Brown and Leola J. Rice Brown of Oklahoma.
