Mary Alice was born to Harold and Alice Baur on June 27, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Capital University, Columbus, Ohio and Finley School of Nursing, Dubuque, Iowa. Paul and Mary Alice were married on August 15, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church, the same church of their baptism and confirmation. Although trained as a nurse, Mary Alice treasured music, especially the church organ. She studied under Marilyn Mason Brown, University of Michigan, Charles Benbow, University of Oklahoma, and Ruth Ann Lundgren, Saginaw Valley State College. She served as organist at several congregations, mainly at Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Houston, Texas for 15 years. She volunteered her piano skills at many nursing homes and elementary schools and over the years, taught hundreds of piano students. She is survived by her husband Paul, daughters Sandra, Jill, (Nathaniel) son Greg (Susan), grandsons Joshua and Zachary Schairer, Gregory and Jordan Scott, two nieces and a nephew. The service for Mary Alice will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills, CO on Friday, July 13 at 11 a.m. For those unable to attend, services will be live streamed via the Bethany Lutheran website. Inurnment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Garden in Fort Collins, CO at a later date.
