Mary E. Whitby, 94, of Centennial, passed away May 14, 2015.

She was born January 2, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph Alexander and Irene Delorez (McDermott) Darrow. She was a graduate of Loretto High School in Chicago. She attended Yankton College in Yankton, South Dakota before receiving her baccalaureate degree from the University of Chicago. In November 1948, she married Thomas Whitby.

Mary is survived by six children, Philip J. Whitby, Irene A. Holland, Michael L. Whitby, Daniel C. Whitby, Helen M. Stamenkovic and Francis G. (Dr. Carrie Byington) Whitby; Nine Grandchildren, Cassidy M. Holland, Justin P. (fiancee Julie Lynch) Holland, Matthew P. (fiancee Danielle Golly) Whitby, Daniel Whitby, Tomislav R. (Shanell Lechuga-Stamenkovic) Stamenkovic, Stefani I. Stamenkovic, Vesna I. Stamenkovic, Jack Whitby and Maria Whitby; Eight Great-Grandchildren, Chelsea Sundelius, Zhane D. Stamenkovic, Gianna S. Stamenkovic, Morgan Holland, Riley Holland, Stella Rose Holland, Wyatt Whitby and Penelope Whitby; Brother, Thomas (Michael Houle) Darrow and Many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Husband, Thomas Whitby, her Parents and Four Brothers, Joseph Darrow, Michael Darrow, Gerard Darrow and Jack Darrow.
