Mary Jane Peters

February 26, 1953 — October 7, 2014

Mary Jane "MJ" Peters, of Lakewood, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2014, after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born on February 26, 1953 in Mountain Lake Bethel Hospital in Mountain Lake, Minnesota at 3:03 A.M. and weighed 12 pounds. She attended Mountain Lake Public Schools and graduated May of 1971. She attended one year of college at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. She was baptized July 31, 1966 at Carson Mennonite Brethren Church.

She came back home and worked at the Toro Factory and then moved to Manhattan, Kansas and worked at Compe Music Store. In 1980 she moved to Denver. She worked as an administrative assistant for Engineers and Contractors. MJ's legacy was that she was proud American and actually quit her job as she was not allowed to display the United States Flag in her office. She was a strong patriotic supporter of the United States Military. MJ was also a very strong Christian and was not afraid to share her faith with anyone she came in contact with. "God Bless America".

Mary Jane is survived by her father, Theodore "Ted" Peters, of Windom, Minnesota; brother, Roger (Josie) Peters, of Tracy, Minnesota, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends Mary Wright, Sally Archibald and Ellie Williams.

Preceded in death by her mother, Grace Peters and sister, Roseanne Peters, and grandparents, Henry and Marie Peters.
