With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Mary Esmeralda Jaramillo.
Mary was born in Walsenburg, Colorado, on October 27, 1941, and passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The proud eldest of twelve siblings, Mary was the heart of her family, a source of strength, guidance, and comfort throughout her life. Her resilience shaped the remarkable woman she became.Mary shared 38 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Jose Valdez. After his passing, she was blessed to find love again with Steve Jaramillo, a gift she and her entire family treasured deeply.
Mary delighted in shopping trips, dining out, visiting casinos, and savoring her favorite Milanos cookies with a cold Pepsi. Her laughter, quick wit, and playful jokes brightened every gathering, leaving an unforgettable imprint on all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her two beloved husbands, her parents, and several cherished siblings, whose memories she carried close to her heart.
She is survived by her children: Yolanda McCarthy (Dan), Vince Valdez, and Fernando Valdez (Jamie); her grandchildren: Summer, Isaac, Savignon, Faith, Mia, Jerimyah, and Kaizer; and her great-grandchildren: Savannah and Andrew.
Her love will continue to live on in each of them.
Memorial Service will be Friday, December 26, 2025, at 11 am at Newcomer, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood. A reception will follow, and the location will be published later.
