Mary Constance Keough Kavanagh “Connie to most”. Connie passed away peacefully April 11, 2025. She was born July 19, 1940, to Emmett and Jane Keough in Sioux City, Iowa. Was a big sister to Joesph (Cindy) and Tim (deceased) Keough. Graduated from Creighton University in 1962 with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Worked as a social worker for 2 years and with Catholic charities, then returned to Creighton to get her master’s degree in administration. In 1968, she moved to Colorado and developed the first program for women students at Regis College. In 1972, she was appointed Associate Dean of Students at the University of Denver, and after 21 yrs. of higher education she integrated into the corporate world. Director of Human Resources at Monitor Labs, and several years later hired as Director of Employees Lab Relations for LaFarge Corporation.
Connie magically squeezed in many exotic global adventures as her thirst for travel had a pulse of its own. She also loved to play golf, cook, garden, rescue cats, and was very much involved in her Catholic faith.
In 2010, she married Brian Kavanagh (deceased) and instantly gained a stepdaughter Kelli McMillan and two grandchildren, Madeleine and Jilienne McMillan whom she loved and spoiled. Connie will be remembered for her kindness, caring generosity, and a friend to all. Her loss is felt by whose lives she touched.
Rest in peace our angel, Connie. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
