Matthew Scott Hornstein, lovingly known as Matt, passed away on May 24, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Born on March 28, 2000, in Thornton, Matt was a vibrant young man whose presence brought joy and inspiration to those around him. His family and friends remember him for his big heart, his generous spirit, and his playful nature—always ready to make the funniest faces and lovingly tease his siblings.
Matt attended Longmont High School. He loved creating YouTube videos and TikTok content, especially those with inspiring and Christian messages, using his creativity and faith as a means to reach out and uplift others. His enthusiasm extended to his hobbies; he found joy in skateboarding, playing basketball, and performing light saber content—a craft he was proud to share with his followers as a sponsored performer with Saber Pro. Among his proudest accomplishments were the videos he made, his new car, and his continuous eagerness to learn new things.
Matt’s journey was not without its challenges. Since his teens, he bravely faced struggles with mental health, a battle he fought with courage and honesty. His family wishes for others to know that help is available and encourages anyone facing similar difficulties to reach out for support.
He is survived by his loving mother, Jackie Silletto (Kris), and father, Timothy Hornstein. Matt’s siblings, who shared in the laughter and bonds that defined their family, include sisters Angel Espana (Adriana) and Ashley Hornstein (Jakob), and brothers Nathan and Noah. His grandfather, Larry Hornstein, aunts Kayla Silletto and Alena Hornstein, uncles Mike Wolfe, Bruce Silletto, Joe Hornstein, and Steven Hornstein, and cousins Jason Silletto, Gino Silletto, Andrew Wolfe, Tera Hornstein, Jena Hornstein, Misty Hornstein, and Aric Hornstein also carry his memory in their hearts. Matt’s girlfriend, Ckodie Barington, stood by him and is part of the circle of love he leaves behind.
Matt’s grandmothers, Linda Brown and Hannah Hornstein, and his uncle, Richard Silletto, preceded him in death, their memories cherished by the family.
A visitation will be held on June 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80226.
