May Dean departed this life and into eternal life Saturday, April 16, 2011 approximately 1:03AM. During her 68 years, she was known to her siblings as "Deanie", her friends called her "Tina" and children, grandchildren and everybody else called her "Momma." She was born in Pueblo, CO to Ray and Margaret Andis. In her earliest years, she grew up with parents and siblings in Wetmoor, West Cliff and Silver Cliff, Colorado. At age 11, the family left the country and moved to Denver where she blossomed into the woman we all knew and loved -her love for country living never far behind. She had a gifted hand with animals of all kinds, but she loved horses the best. As a young woman, she would ride horses bareback with her own hair whipping in the wind. Like the carefree girl on the back of a horse, she faced her last days as she lived: a healthy dose of humor, sass, generosity and an unbridled spirit.
She is survived by two children: Valerie L. Hamilton and Kelly E. Love. Six grandchildren: Brandy N. Wimbish, Rolvie D. Hamilton, Shawntay R. Anderson-Young, Braelin Hamilton, Jaylin Hamilton, Anthony Love, Justice Love, Cristina Love, True Love, Maxine Love and Kelli Love. Ten great-grandchildren: Anthony Wimbish, Seriah Wimbish, Harry E. Wimbish, III, Melody Young, Robert Young, Jr., Three brothers: Ray, Willis and Dennis Andis; and two sisters, Faye McPherson and Phyllis Potere. Also survived by other nieces, nephews, and additional relatives. Preceded in death by her mother and father: Ray Andis and Margaret Ballantyne; by children: Dwayne McGregor and Melody McGregor-Williams. Funeral service, Friday, April 22, 2011, 9:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, East Metro Chapel. Interment Rye Cemetery.
