Melvin Wolf passed away July 14, 2014 at the age of 87. He was surrounded with his loving family.
Mel was born in Globeville, Colorado, the son of Peter and Mollie Wolf, and two brothers, Robert and Arnold.
Mel attended Garden Place Elementary and Horace Mann Jr. High and onto North High School.
Mel spent several years at his favorite place in the Grand Lake area. He then decided to join the Merchant Marines but was later drafted into the Army. He was assigned to Texas as a cook for the next two years. He loved cooking steaks for the men. After leaving the service he returned to Denver to begin his career in the printing industry.
Mel started with Bradford's Publishing Company and moved onto Gates Rubber Company printing division. He began with B & N Book Bindery in 1965, later to become a partner in the business. Eventually, he became sole owner of B & N Book Bindery, which continued to operate until 1980.
The love of his life was Midge for 53 years. He is survived by his daughter, Lori and her husband, Nick and their two children, Zack and Brandon, and his son, Ron and Angie.
As a family we enjoyed breakfast in the Colorado mountains, skiing on the Colorado slopes, swimming at Glenwood Springs, weekends on the waters of Grand Lake, season tickets for 8 years at Bronco games, and many family gatherings at our house in Evergreen.
After retiring, Mel bought a 20-foot motor home and the family spent two months traveling the west coast, Canada and onto Alaska. Mel and Midge upgraded to a 32-foot motor home to continue traveling. They purchased property in Arizona and spent many winters in the warm weather. With another couple they traveled to Mexico and then began a road trip back to Alaska. Finally, they settled down in the Denver area to be close to their children and their families and friends.
Thank you for being a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandpa! You have given each of us a lifetime of happy memories. We love you so much!!!
