In Memory of Michael A. Antosh Jr., Mike
Retired SSGT Michael A. Antosh Jr., 82, of Aurora, passed away on April 7, 2014. Mike is survived by his wife Irene, daughter Sonja, grandson Matthew (Monson), brothers Peter and Donald, and sister Marilyn (Doyon).
Mike was born in Bellingham, Massachusetts on March 11, 1932. After High School, he enlisted into the armed forces, and was soon stationed in Goeppingen, Germany, where he met the love of his life, Irene E. Bueckle. Mike and Irene married in 1965.
Mike was a member of the 24th infantry and fought in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received many service commendations, citations and ribbons including the Combat Infantry Badge and 2 Purple Hearts. Mike retired in Ft. Riley, Kansas, after committing 22 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.
Mike moved his family to Colorado in the summer of 1972. He worked as a security guard at the Federal Reserve Bank in Denver for 4 years. Mike developed a love for coin collecting, gardening and photography.
A loving husband, supportive father and caring grandfather, Mike will be missed by friends and family near and far. His loyalty, generosity and kind heart will always be remembered and he will be forever loved.
Full retired military honors will be rendered by the United States Army on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. staging area "A" Fort Logan National Cemetery.
O Loving Father and Savior, send your angels to carry the soul of your servant from this earth to the heavenly place of eternal and everlasting life. Let family and friends who have passed before in faith be reunited in joy with the departed. Forgive and welcome this beloved spirit into the warm embrace of your unending peace. Amen
