Michael Eugene Wanczyk

Mike was born in East Denver, where he spent the majority of his life creating many wonderful and meaning memories and friendships. 

He was witty, intelligent and very adventurous in his younger days. He loved photography and computer technology, both as a hobby and a career. He worked in the banking industry for a brief period which gave him the opportunity to radiate his people skills. His smile, beautiful wavy hair and the most beautiful blue eyes were captivating. He also worked alongside his younger brother Frank in the food and hotel industry. Oh boy!! Oh happy days!! 

To his siblings, he was big brother, Mikey, and what a great big brother he was. Although he never was financially wealthy, he was the type of person who would literally give you the shirt off his back. He was very generous and kind and his biggest wealth in life was the love he had for everyone, family and friends. He had the love for our Lord and Savior instilled in his heart at a very early age. 

He is preceded in death by both his parents, a brother Mark, a sister Lucy and four half sisters, (Betty, Josie , Theresa and Midge), also a half brother (Joe). 

He is survived by and leaves behind two sons : Richard ( Grandchildren - Alexis, Isabelle, Anthony), son Michael( Granddaughter- Analicia), and daughter Michelle( Grandchildren- Desirae, Atreus), and his children’s mother Rosalie Lovato. Also survived by siblings: Rose Wanczyk, Frank Wanczyk (Mary), Donna Ulibarri ( Kenny), Sharon Wanczyk (Robert), Karen Rudd (Dave), and Linda Wanczyk (Matt). He is survived by numerous relatives, aunts, nieces nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention. 

Mike's health issues begin when he was forty five years old and had an open heart surgery. When he was called to his eternal home at the age of 72, he had been struggling with numerous health issues for years. He spent the last 2 years living in Wheat Ridge, Colorado near those he loved dearly, his family. He shared his living space with his nephew Marcus, who was there by his side through thick and thin and all his ups and downs.  He was a very loving and a compassionate soul, although at times he could be a bit demanding! 

He was admitted to Lutheran hospital on June eighth and was surrounded by numerous loved ones and friends. God granted him the opportunity to have one on one quality time with his daughter Michelle and son, Michael and all his siblings by his side. He loved his cheese and and green chili and had to have his two specials from chubbies, beef taco and cheese enchilada with an egg! Everyone soon became aware that he had his own stash of cheese down the hall in the patients refrigerator. Thank goodness the cafeteria had green chili. At one point, they ran out of it for a couple of days (Hummmm.) The medical staff went above and beyond to provide care for his medical condition, which we (and he) will always be eternally grateful. Although we were aware throughout his stay how critically ill he was, we never gave up hope (neither did he). As they cared for him, they quickly recognized who he was as a person: Grateful, Considerate , Compassionate , Humorous, God loving and a "True Warrior". 

Although he looked weak and frail, he put up a good fight to continue his life on Earth not wanting to leave his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, but God finally took him home, Amen.....🙏🏼 Those who were fortunate enough to see him in the hospital will remember his silly songs, jokes, hugs and kisses, holding hands, his hearty appetite, and especially his love and desire to share the love of God through prayer with us. He was a true testimony of the love of Jesus, Regardless of our shortcomings. We honestly believed at one point, he was coming home (being with him made it difficult to believe the doctor's prognosis). We now believe he is in his eternal home and in the presence of those he loved and missed so much, his Heavenly family. He was loved by many and will always live and have a special place in our hearts.
