Muriel Schulte, 71, of Aurora, CO and Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

She was born in Fort Madison, IA on August 17, 1944 to the late Francis and Edna Mead. Muriel graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1962 and received a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa in 1966. She married Joseph Schulte in 1966 and they lived together in Cedar Rapids, IA., before relocating for the winter months to Aurora in 2011.

Muriel loved to travel the world with her husband and was always ready for the next adventure. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She enjoyed reading, taking care of her grandchildren and visiting with her neighbors. Muriel spread happiness and her positive attitude wherever she went. She never met a stranger who didn't become her friend.

Muriel is survived by her husband Joe and two children: Stacey (Lance) Paulson, of Golden, CO and Christine (Matthew) Udoni, of Lincolnshire, IL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Kiley and Dylan Paulson, Makala, Paul and Nick Udoni; and her sister Shirley Macall of Petersburg, VA; nephew David; nieces Melody and Lisa; and numerous cousins.
