Myrna June Patterson Weidenhamer, 67, of Aurora, passed away May 3, 2016 from a short term illness.
She was born December 31, 1948 in New York, New York, the daughter of Sven and June (Cox) Patterson. She was a 1967 graduate of Mason City High School in Iowa. She later married Daniel Weidenhamer, of Aurora, Colorado.
In her younger years, Myrna was an avid horse barrel racer. Myrna and Dan spent time participating in bowling leagues and playing cards. They traveled to 48 states and Western Europe. She retired from the Aurora Public School Systems after years of dispatching and driving school buses.
Myrna is survived by her two sisters, Gail (Jake) Hignight of Durham, NC and Jill Patterson of Lisbon Falls, ME; niece, Alyson; two nephews, Bart and Andrew; beloved aunt, Carole Bacon; long time friends, Linda Norris and Sue Spence; and many other loving relatives and friends; and Dan's three children, John, Tirza, and Trudy. A special thank you to cousin Brenda who was with her through thick and thin. She is preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Daniel Lee Weidenhamer; parents, Sven and June Patterson; her beloved horse, Applejack; and many numerous dogs, cats, and goats.
